Funny Things Zoe Says/Does

8/13/08 - Zoe has three imaginary friends, Kevin, Macey (who is also a "real" friend) and Poopoo. She's had them for a while. She understands that they are "pretend" but lately they've been really a part of our family. We even had to buckle them in the car a few times.
5/15/08 - Zoe and I were walking together on a sidewalk and an old woman was coming in the opposite direction. The sidewalk was narrow and we all stopped to offer the other to pass. The old woman insisted we go. As we passed, I said, "Excuse us" and nodded in gratitude. Then, seizing the "teaching moment," I said to Zoe, "We say 'excuse me' whenever we pass by someone." In her own "teaching voice," Zoe responded, "And when we burp or toot." Ah, another proud mommy moment.
4/12/08 - Zoe started remindng us while we're driving, "You need to drive with two hands on the wheel." The funny thing is that niether of us have ever taught her that. It's something she either figured out herself or someone else told her.
Every once in a while Zoe will say, "I don't want Lily to grow up."
2/26/08 - My friend Megan who is about 7 months pregnant came over for dinner. Right after dinner Zoe asked her (with genuine concern), "Megan, is that a baby in your tummy or are you just really full?"
2/24/08 - "Mommy, when Pumpkin (the cat) dies, can we get a dog?"

Lily's Milestones

8.13.08 - Two top teeth are popping through.
8.01.08 - Lilt takes first steps holding onto mom/dad's fingers
7.29.08 - Lily says, "uh-oh" for the first time.
7.22.08 - Lily "fills and dumps" object in and ot of a bucket.
7.12.08 - Lily claps.
7.5.08 - Lily is waving.
7.5.08 - Lily consistently pulling up to standing.
6.12.08 - Lily is crawling all over the place.
6.9.08 - I catch Lily pulling herself up to one leg in her crib.
6.6.08 - Lily crawls
5.13.08 - Another bottom tooth popping through
5.10.08 - A little bottom tooth is starting to pop through!
5.08.08 - Lily can get from a sitting position to a crawling position.
5.06.08 - Lily says, "Dadadadada" & she's starting to wave.
5.03.08 - Lily starts to push herself backwards while on all fours.
4.24.08 - Rolls a ball back and forth with Zoe
4.16.08 - Lily takes her first airplane ride. We went to North Carolina.
4.13.08 - Lily drinks from a sippy cup!
4.03.08 - Lily loves bananas and graham crackers.
4.02.08 - Lily sits up by herself and stays there!
3.29.08 - Lily starting to push herself backwards on the floor.
2.24.08 - Lily tried rice cereal for the first time and LOVED it!
2.22.08 - She's 5 months old and has mastered rolling from back to tummy
12.4.07 - Lily laughs for the first time
